Welcome to your April newsletter.
Connect Prescription Services Website
Connect Prescription Services announced the launch of our new website in the March newsletter. This can be accessed via the following link: –

We will be posting live information on the service phone-lines on the website. There’s information on how to order your prescriptions, frequently asked questions and some useful contacts.
Meet the team
This month we would like to introduce to our service users, Prescription Coordinator, Julie Pinkett. Many of you will have spoken to her when calling in to place your orders as she is the longest serving member of the team and has been a part of the service since 2016. We would like to take this opportunity to congratulate Julie on 15 years’ service, which she achieved earlier this month. She is a valued member of the team and will always do her best for our service users.
Learning and development
We are delighted to announce that Tammy Temple, one of our nursing team, has successfully completed the Dansac Stoma Care course at Birmingham University. As part of the assessment process Tammy gave a fantastic presentation to her peers on using her skills and position as a stoma care nurse to enhance quality of life for those living with a stoma. We are incredibly proud of Tammy and her achievement.
Order Reminder Calls
With the aim of improving and running a more efficient service, NAMS are now in the process of moving towards providing an outbound call service. This would involve members of the prescription coordinator team calling you at an agreed time, before your order is due, effectively acting as a reminder service. We will be offering this service on your next call. We hope this will reduce the queue and wait time on the phone for any queries and also reduce the risk of you running out of products.
Dispenser Survey
At Connect Prescription Services we are driven to offer the best service possible and to enable us to do this we need to understand the world in which we operate. We have had feedback from individuals telling us that some dispensers are not behaving ethically so we would like your input to help us to identify this practice so that it can be addressed. This link will take you to a survey of 9 questions which should take less than 10 minutes to complete https://www.surveymonkey.co.uk/r/NAMSDACS .
Clinical Reviews
It has been great to see an increased uptake in the clinical offerings of the service with more people coming to our clinic at Phoenix Park or having video consultations. The feedback from these appointments have been positive and can be seen here:https://www.iwantgreatcare.org/hospitals/nams-prescription-service-2 If you have not had a review in over a year, or you are experiencing difficulties that may be related to your stoma please get in touch so we can book you did. If you have access to the online ordering system you can also book yourself an appointment in the same way. If you would like more information on this please email us on nnccg.nams@nhs.net
